Former XO of USS Justice Passes Away |

We have just heard that a former XO of the USS Justice has passed away. The USS Justice is saddened by this news and pray for comfort for her Family.
We would like to forward a letter from Stephen Buonocore who knew her well:: Dear friends,
It is with utter sadness that I inform you of the passing of our good
friend Mara Yoresh Rivera. She died this morning peacefully, without
suffering, losing her battle with colon cancer. Mara was but 37 years of
age.
Mara is survived by her new husband, Daniel Rivera, who was with her at
every moment during this tragedy. The rest of her family was there for
Mara as well, traveling from Florida to be at her bedside during her
last days.
In my lifetime, I have never met a person such as Mara. No one was so
full of life, so tough as nails, so upfront as Mara. You always knew
where you stood with Mara.
I have so many great memories of time spent with Mara. We partied like
crazy at Paintball and Camping weekends, as well as various other
parties that we attended. Mara was a perennial at many Sci-Fi/Fantasy
Conventions throughout the years, such as Shore Leave, Chiller Con, and
others, always having a great time at these with all of her friends.
Mara was a fabulous role-player, participating in a number of RPGs and
LARPS throughout NJ, such as "Cap Chron" and "ACBN". She was a founder
of the ACBN game, and she wrote many of the best storylines for the
game.
Mara and I also spent quiet times together too, just talking about life,
the universe and everything. I loved spending time with Mara. She
brought such as wonderful energy to everything to which she was
involved.
Mara touched the lives of many many people, and I know that she will be
missed by so many. I miss her greatly.

Many of the USS Justice showed up to Shore Leave 30 in Hunt Valley, MD. These included Alycia, Danny, David, Frank, Maria, Mik, Mike, Tim and myself.
Things I learned about At Shore Leave. - Don't get too many photo ops. It makes you miss the panels.
- Mark and Morgan Sheppard talk well, and can really tell stories. And they were very funny.
- David and Kate Hewlett were also good onstage together.
- A Dog's breakfast is funny. Need to get and hey, its available through Tivo Unbox. Woot! And theres a DVD at www.dgeek.com. A site run by David Hewlett.
- All the Guests did a good job with the autographs, though some got more tired than others.
- Jewel Staite is taller than I expected. Normally when I meet actors they have been shorter than I expected.
- I learned about The Finger Story. If you don't know it, too bad. It's not my story to tell. Alycia has a good picture of it though.
- It was only 5 more miles going west to York, then North rather then go East then north. But that way leads to traffic and lots of wait, stop, wait, move, wait stop. Think I should go west more often.

For those of you not at last month's meeting, the chapter meeting was moved to our place. Saturday, May 17, because the library is going to be closed. We are going to have a game day before/after the meeting. Everyone is going to bring munchies and we will order pizza or whatever everyone wants for dinner. We are starting at 1, but the meeting will take place at 2, and then we go back to playing games.

At the bottom of Hackettstown hill, at the traffic light, make a left onto East Ave. At the next traffic light, make a left onto Rt 517 (Mountain Ave/Schooley's Mountain Ave.) (Better known as Fast Food Alley!) Travel 1 mile to Hastings Dr. (This is in the Hastings Square townhome
complex.) Make a left onto Hastings Dr. Go a few hundred feet to Wimbledon Sq. Make a left onto Wimbledon Sq. To 129 Wimbledon Sq. (The end unit of a big RED townhouse.)
From the West:

Turn left onto CR-517.
Travel 6.4 miles to Hastings Dr. (This is in the Hastings Square townhome
